It was really just an excuse for me to use up the open bags of chocolate chips from Christmas, but I seriously made all of these in about 15 minutes before the kids woke up last week! My son forgave me for making them without him, when he found out that he was going to get to eat them during the snowstorm with his hot chocolate! They are so easy! Melt chocolate, swirl the peppermint stick around and sprinkle with your favorite toppings. ![]() I do, however, like a dollop of whipped cream on top, and this year we stepped it up a notch and got fancy with Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Stick Stirrers! The secret weapon of parents everywhere, used to lure the kids back into the house when their fingers are just about frostbit, HOT CHOCOLATE!!! We do nothing special with our hot chocolate over here, usually just some milk with Hershey syrup or some good ole Swiss Miss. ![]() And of course, when it comes to snow, there is one more essential that you can’t forget. I love the idea of getting all warm and cozy and bunkering down with your nearest and dearest, and then getting all bundled up to play out in the snow. I also ran out to the store with the rest of the nut cases and got all my essentials, wine, ice cream, Oreos, and everything we needed to fill a crockpot with chili. I totally buy in to all the hype, seriously, I started following our local weather guy on Facebook. I love when there is an impending storm, and it’s all that anybody can talk about. It just adds so much excitement to what can sometimes feel like a dreary time of year. I wrapped mine individually in green saran wrap for the holidays, to keep them fresh.AHH! Did everybody survive the blizzard? We got about a foot of snow in my part of Delaware between Friday and Saturday, and I enjoyed every single bit of it! I love love love a good snow storm and I get so disappointed when we go through a whole winter without the grass ever being fully blanketed.Great to do as a fun day with the kiddies too! Use your imagination, and I am sure they will work fine for you too. You could even use the little cinnamon hot red candies for Valentine's Day! Or put those cute candy hearts with the little sayings down the front with some sprinkles. I have also used chopped candy bars such as Butterfingers. I have dipped them in caramel and then chocolate and sprinkled with nuts and M&M's. They look pretty enough to put on top of Christmas presents or packages, use as party favors for kids, or as a place setting using a name tag tied with a ribbon to each one, so the kids know where their seats are. Grab your holiday sprinkles, and have fun! These are a yummy treat for kids and adults alike! I made these for co-workers and family members during the holidays, and put some in gift baskets for Christmas. Melt milk chocolate coating dip remaining pretzels place on baking sheets., Drizzle white-dipped pretzels with milk chocolate coating drizzle milk chocolate-dipped pretzels with white coating. Dip half of the caramel-dipped pretzels into the white coating return to baking sheets. (Rewarm caramel mixture and replenish as needed.), In a microwave, melt white candy coating stir until smooth. Place on well-buttered baking sheets let stand until firm. Quickly dip each pretzel halfway into caramel allow excess to drip off. , Pour 2 cups caramel mixture into a 2-cup glass measuring cup. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until a candy thermometer reads 245° (firm-ball stage).
